Freedom Solar, a provider of solar energy solutions to both commercial and residential properties, has signed a new 21,365-square-foot lease for industrial flex space in Temecula, Calif., where it will move its headquarters in March of 2018. Avison Young brokered the transaction, with Stan Nowak representing Freedom Solar and Corey Martin representing the landlord in the deal.

Located at 43445 Business Park Drive, the two-story building was built in 1989 and sits in the town’s Rancho California Business Park, home to numerous industrial properties. Situated within half a mile of the entrance to Interstate 15, the property is approximately halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. Freedom Solar will share the building with an existing tenant, Gold Prospectors Association of America. The company’s new space is more than double the size of its current 8,000-square-foot headquarters at 25819 Jefferson Ave. in Murrieta.

“This new headquarters for Freedom Solar was a perfect fit for its expansion, employees and business strategy,” said Nowak, principal at Avison Young, in prepared remarks. “The building offered the only true flex/industrial option for the firm’s size requirement in the local area. The property also features raw space that will enable the company to embark on an extensive tenant improvement program.”

Last year, MCA Realty broke ground on the first new industrial development in Temecula in almost a decade, intended for completion early this year according to Yardi Matrix.
