Jacksonville, Fla.—The full-service hospitality management company Charlestowne Hotels has expanded its portfolio of independent properties with the addition of The Collector, Luxury Inn and Gardens.

The St. Augustine inn is an adaptive reuse project that will be located on the site of the former Dow Museum of Historic Houses, an old town landmark of the city dating back to 1790.

Encompassing one acre of land, the hotel includes nine buildings with a capacity of 30 guest rooms. Original elements of the museum such as the foundation, structure and various collections will be retained.

“Opening The Collector as St. Augustine’s first upscale inn, we needed a hotel management team with a deep understanding of distinct hotels and a strong appreciation of repurposed and revitalized properties,” said the landmark’s owner, David Corneal, in a prepared statement.

The list of amenities also includes a heated outdoor pool, outdoor fire pits and a central bar. Tours of the city coordinated by the hotel team will also be available to guests.

Charlestowne Hotels will be in charge of all operations, revenue management and marketing for the project which is slated to open in fall 2016.
