New York—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide’s Westin brand has announced the opening of The Westin Buffalo hotel in the heart of the Western New York city. The newly built hotel was developed in partnership with owner and operator Delaware North and is the brand’s first location in the city.
“With the revival of downtown Buffalo and new energy in the city, we are thrilled to introduce a unique wellness proposition for business and leisure travelers, as only Westin can,” Bob Jacobs, vice president of brand management for North America at Westin, said in a statement.
Located at 250 Delaware Ave., the five-story, 116-key hotel is housed on the lower half of Delaware North’s new global headquarters, and features 7,300 square feet of meeting and event space, as well as an outdoor courtyard.
Other amenities include signature restaurant Patina 250, Jake’s Café, the RunWESTIN and WestinWORKOUT fitness programs, as well the city’s new Reddy Bikeshare initiative, which brings 200 bikes to Buffalo in an effort to promote physical exercise and well-being. The concept behind the Westin Buffalo is that a connection to nature can enhance well-being, and replaces traditional straight lines with winding pathways to guide guests through the hotel’s public spaces.
“From our iconic Heavenly Bed to our Gear Lending partnership with New Balance, we look forward to having guests leave The Westin Buffalo feeling better than when they arrived,” said Jacobs.
The Westin Buffalo is conveniently situated close to the city’s business and entertainment districts, the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, Key Bank Center—home of the NHL Buffalo Sabres—and is easily accessible from the I-90, I-190 and the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
