ezStorage Corp., with a Baltimore-area portfolio totaling approximately 2.7 million square feet, has opened a new, class A self-storage facility totaling 132,423 square feet in Alexandria, Va. The firm built the development–financed by a $12.2 million loan—in one year, marking its first in the city.

Located at 3640 Wheeler Ave., the three-story storage facility is situated on two acres and is close to interstates 395 and 495. Washington, D.C., is 10 miles away from the property via Interstate 395. Additionally, the facility is near several shopping destinations and apartment communities, and it comprises individually alarmed, climate-controlled units, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet.

Also in Alexandria, Public Storage recently acquired BoatUS’ headquarters, situated inside the Washington Beltway near interstates 395, 495 and 95, and will convert the building to a self-storage facility.
