Empire Resorts Unveils New York Casino Name

The 18-story, 332-key Resorts World Catskills is expected to open in March 2018. The venue is part of a $1.2 billion four-season destination in Sullivan County.

Empire Resorts Inc. announced the name of its resort casino being built as part of a $1.2 billion four-season destination located in Sullivan County, N.Y.: Resorts World Catskills. The hotel is scheduled to open in March 2018. 

The 18-story, 332-key getaway will feature a 100,000-square-foot casino with 130 table games, a poker room and 2,150 slot machines; 10 bar and restaurant options; a salon; a spa; two pools; two fitness centers; conference, meeting rooms and banquet halls; live entertainment at its more than 2,000-seat theater, two casino bars and entertainment restaurant; and an 18-hole golf course debuting in spring 2019. 

Last month, a subsidiary of Empire entered into a license agreement to rebrand the resort casino, formerly known as the Montreign Resort Casino, as a Resorts World property. The internationally renowned Resorts World brand has properties in various locations around the world, including Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Singapore; Bimini, Bahamas; Manilla, Philippines; Birmingham, England; New York; and the newest property currently under construction in Las Vegas.

“The name Resorts World Catskills melds the allure of the Catskills region with the prestige of the Resorts World family,” said Emanuel Pearlman, executive chairman of the board of directors of Empire, in prepared remarks. “This recognized worldwide gaming and hospitality brand will provide us greater power to market our resort casino, which is designed to meet 5-star and 5-diamond standards, and provide regional, national and international exposure for the Catskills region.”
