Driftwood Hospitality Management Expands Hotel Portfolio

The company has purchased Hilton Houston North and Marriott Houston North, encompassing 870 keys combined. The new owner plans extensive renovations for both assets.

Driftwood Hospitality Management has acquired the 480-key Hilton Houston North and the 390-key Marriott Houston North. The new owner plans to upgrade both hotels. All rooms and public spaces will be renovated at the Hilton, including the atrium lobby, the food, beverage and arrival areas, while the Marriott will go through a complete revamp.

Hilton Houston North comprises a 40,000-square-foot atrium, which includes the hotel’s lobby, cafes, restaurants, a business center and gift shop, all connected to a 52,000-square-foot meeting space. The 15-story tower features an outdoor pool, 23 flexible function rooms and a fitness center.

Marriott Houston North includes 20 function rooms totaling 15,990 square feet. The hotel has a central 12-story tower, adjacent to an eight-story tower with a detached two-story parking garage.Marriott Houston North features cafes, restaurants, stores, a business center and an indoor/outdoor pool.

The two hotels are within a mile of each other and 14 miles north of downtown Houston. The assets are close to Greenspoint Mall shopping center and less than 10 miles of George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Last year, Home2 Suites by Hilton opened Home2 Suites by Hilton Houston Webster. The 91-key hotel is halfway between the Houston and Galveston, Texas, metro areas.
