Fort Smith, Ark.—DoubleTree by Hilton has announced the opening of their first ever property in Arkansas’ second largest city, following a multimillion dollar renovation. Located in the heart of downtown Fort Smith at 700 Rogers Ave., the building is connected to the Fort Smith Convention Center, housing 255 upscale guestrooms throughout its nine stories.

Just five miles from the Fort Smith Municipal Airport and a short walk to downtown attractions, the hotel will house 17,000 square feet of meeting space, a 10,656-square-foot grand ballroom, a 24-hour fitness center, an indoor heated pool, and feature a chocolate chip cookie welcome for all the guests. Since it is connected to the convention center, that adds an additional 47,000 square feet that can accommodate up to 4,500 extra people.

“Downtown Fort Smith is an increasingly popular business hub for western Arkansas, thanks in large part to its spacious and versatile convention center,” Dianna Vaughan, senior vice president & global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “By fully renovating the adjacent hotel and converting it to DoubleTree by Hilton, we are bringing to Fort Smith the upscale lodging and welcoming service our guests expect from our growing, worldwide brand.”

Included in the upscale transformation is the use of custom artwork throughout the hotel, sculptures on the back wall of the reception desk and a five-story waterfall cascading into the lobby.

“The opening of this hotel represents the first DoubleTree by Hilton in the Trivium Hotel Management Group portfolio, and we are so excited to have our Fort Smith property welcomed into this first-class brand,” added Sue McCormick, president & COO, Trivium Hotel Management Group. “The Thrash Group has done an amazing job of completely re-imagining the DoubleTree by Hilton Fort Smith City Center, which takes its rightful place among the finest full service hotels in Northwest Arkansas.”
