Kansas City, Kan.—DoubleTree by Hilton has opened its first property in Lawrence, Kan., DoubleTree by Hilton Lawrence.

The 192-key, four-level upscale hotel is located at 200 McDonald Drive, off of Interstate 70, within 10 blocks of the university and in close proximity to downtown Lawrence’s historic landmarks, boutiques, restaurants and corporate offices.

“With the university as its backdrop, Lawrence attracts a wide range of travelers seeking upscale accommodations as well as event and convention space,” Dianna Vaughan, senior vice president & global head, DoubleTree by Hilton, said in a prepared statement.

The facility has recently been subjected to a multimillion dollar renovation that included remodeling the public areas, guest rooms and dining facilities, as well as upgrades to the 18,000-square-foot convention center and surrounding areas. The property is owned and managed by Hulsing Hotels Inc.

“With this extensive renovation now complete, DoubleTree by Hilton Lawrence has up-to-date features for business and leisure travelers that are second to none,” added Stephen Horton, general manager, DoubleTree by Hilton Lawrence. “With the backing and reputation of this global brand, we are uniquely positioned to provide lodging and conference guests with the attentive, high-quality service they rely on from DoubleTree by Hilton.”
