Dollar Tree Stores Inc. continues to spread its wings in Southern California with the inking of six new leases.

All agreements were completed with Wilson Commercial, whose Senior Vice President Scott Burns called Dollar Tree “one of the most active retailers in the marketplace” when announcing the news. Burns added that the region continues to be a high priority for Dollar Tree; in the past six months, the company has signed leases at 13 Southern California locations.

The six leases entailed a 15,000-square-foot, five-year lease at Pico Rivera Towne Center in Pico Rivera; a 13,295-square-foot, five-year lease at Costco Plaza in Fountain Valley; an 11,250-square-foot, five-year lease at Plaza Las Glorias in Colton; a 9,435-square-foot, five-year lease at Rosemead Plaza; an 8,088-square-foot, five-year lease at Norco Towne Center in Norco; and an 8,000-square-foot, five-year lease at Menifee Town Center in Menifee. Burns, along with representatives from Studley Retail Services, represented the landlords.

Dollar Tree has continued to harness the demand for discount retail, which in these recession-strapped times has become a major market.

Wilson Commercial Real Estate has leased and sold more than 5 million square feet with an aggregate consideration of nearly $750 million. The firm currently represents 9 million square feet of retail space in 85 shopping centers throughout Southern California.
