Diamond Resorts Buys First Oahu Hotel
The Modern Honolulu hotel is situated minutes from the Waikiki Beach and offers various luxury amenities. Diamond Resorts plans to implement a few upgrades to the resort.

Diamond Resorts has acquired The Modern Honolulu, a boutique hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. This transaction marks Diamond’s first acquisition in Oahu.
Located at 1775 Ala Moana Blvd., the four-star hotel offers convenient access to Waikiki Beach, Kalakaua Avenue, a world-class shopping and dining street, and to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. Other attractions such as Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head and the North Shore for surfing are a taxi-ride away, and the Honolulu International Airport is a 15-minute drive away.
The Modern Honolulu features a mix of luxury rooms and suites and includes common area amenities such as:
- full-service spa
- two pools
- fitness center
- study lounge area
- two restaurants
- three bars
- in-room dining and catering service
- outdoor bar
“In addition to superior room quality, amenities and service, our members and guests can look forward to unique resort experiences through our Events of a Lifetime® and Diamond Live concert series platforms,” Michael Flaskey, CEO of Diamond Resorts, said in a statement.
Diamond Resorts plans to make several improvements to the resort by converting guest rooms into larger suites and adding a new world-class sales center providing the company with new owner sales opportunities.
