Davidson Hotels & Resorts will open a new headquarters office in Atlanta that will house most of the company’s corporate functions. The independent hotel management firm has not yet settled on a specific location, but the current frontrunner is the Perimeter area. Company officials favor the district for its central location and proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The relocation is expected to take place next summer.

Davidson president & CEO John Belden cited the company’s growing portfolio, and Atlanta’s status as a gateway city, as leading reasons for the decision. “We initially looked at five major markets on the East Coast, but Atlanta was chosen because it is rated as one of the nation’s Top 10 most attractive cities for corporate relocation and currently is the 4th largest hotel/hospitality market in the country, providing a deep pool of prospective industry talent,” Belden explained. “This dual-office configuration will provide us with an even stronger platform for growth and portfolio support, and we expect to add personnel in both locations as we expand our business.”

Corporate functions moving to Atlanta will include business development, revenue management, construction and design, sales and revenue management, legal, human resources and business development. Davidson will handle primarily back office functions in its current headquarters in Memphis, such as accounting, risk management, payroll and information technology.

Davidson’s current portfolio encompasses 49 upscale, full-service independent and branded hotels with nearly 13,900 rooms nationwide. Among its affiliations are Hyatt, Westin, Sheraton, Marriott, Renaissance, Hilton, Embassy Suites, Doubletree, Radisson, Crowne Plaza, Hilton Garden Inn and Courtyard. The company’s services include management, development, renovation, acquisition, consulting and accounting expertise.
