Baltimore—Continental Realty Corp. has recently named David Donato as senior vice president of the company’s commercial and multifamily divisions. He was previously senior vice president of the firm’s commercial division only, having joined Continental more than 15 years ago.

“David continues to demonstrate his strong leadership skills and represents the ideal professional to assume a dual role overseeing the commercial and multifamily divisions of the company,” said J.M. Schapiro, CEO of Continental Realty Corp., in prepared remarks. “We feel especially confident about this decision based on the tremendously experienced team we have built within both divisions, which will provide David with the support and depth he needs to function in both capacities.”

In his new role, Donato will be in charge of day-to-day operations of the company’s 10,000-unit multifamily portfolio located throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. At the same time, he will continue to oversee Continental Realty’s roughly 3 million square feet of office and retail space.

Donato holds a BA degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Loyola University Maryland. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, NAREIM, and the National Apartment Association.
