D.C.’s First Hyatt Place Hotel Opens in NoMa

Just a month after the opening of D.C.’s first Cambria Hotel & Suites, in the historic Shaw neighborhood, the District is saying ”hello” to another important hotel brand. Hyatt Hotels Corp., The JBG Cos. and Crescent Hotels & Resorts last week announced the opening of the city’s first Hyatt Place.

The 14-story Hyatt Place Washington D.C./U.S. Capitol opened on June 26 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It is located at 33 New York Ave., N.E., in the NoMa district, one of the city’s fastest-growing neighborhoods.

Cooper Carry designed the hotel. Hyatt Place Washington D.C./U.S. Capitol has 200 rooms, all with plush beds, sofas and HDTVs. It also provides its guests with free Wi-Fi, a large state-of-the-art fitness facility, an outdoor pool and terrace, as well as 1,600 square feet of meeting space.
