A new retail player is placing bets on the Las Vegas Strip. Town Square Las Vegas will be among six new locations in the U.S. where The Container Store plans to debut this year, the retailer said recently.

Slated for a May 12 opening, the store will take 22,000 square feet at the 1.2 million-square-foot regional lifestyle center on Las Vegas Boulevard. The Container Store will join national brands like Apple, H&M, Staples and Whole Foods. As part of its grand opening, The Container Store is partnering with the Junior League of Las Vegas to give back 10% of the first weekend’s proceeds to the local community.

Like Town Square,  the Las Vegas Arts District will welcome a new arrival this spring. Located north of the Arts Factory at 1025 South First Street, Art Square consists of three remodeled buildings and separated by an open lot which will be converted to a sculpture garden, according to information on the venue’s Web site.

The property will feature 16 spaces ranging in size from 150 to 2,500 square feet. Tenants on board include Art Square Theatre, Artifice Bar & Lounge, First Street Gallery, Josephine Skaught Salon as well as a venue showcasing works by local artists.
