Compass Adds New CFO

Kristen Ankerbrandt has 20 years of experience in the technology and media and telecommunications sectors. She previously served as a principal at The Carlyle Group.

Compass has hired Kristen Ankerbrandt as its newest chief financial officer, effective November 26th. She will report to Founder & Chief Executive Officer Robert Reffkin. Her responsibilities will include overseeing financial strategies and all financial functions, acquisitions and investor relations, new development and legal.

Ankerbrandt brings 20 years of software and tech-enabled services experience to the position. Prior to joining the company, she worked for more than 11 years at The Carlyle Group as a principal, where she led technology investments for its $18.5 billion fund. She also dealt with technology, media and communications transactions in Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division. The recently appointed executive received a BA in economics from Columbia University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

“Kristen is an inspirational leader with deep expertise in the technology sector,” Reffkin said in a prepared statement. “Her experience growing investments in fast-growing technology companies will power Compass’ next stage of hypergrowth as we capitalize on our Series F funding and expand internationally.”
