The Bulls recently hosted the opening of Advocate Center, the team’s new training facility in downtown Chicago. The 60,000-square-foot facility is located across the street from the United Center on South Wood Street, between Monroe and Madison Streets.

The Chicago Bulls announced a long-term agreement with Advocate Health Care, the largest health care system in Illinois, to develop a state-of-the-art facility in the team’s hometown. According to a news release, the team decided to relocate in order to improve player convenience and collaboration between the front office staff and the team’s basketball operations.

“Chicago is a great place to live, work and play, and since the Bulls already play here, I am thrilled that the team can now do their daily work at the Advocate Center and in close proximity to the United Center,” says Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “This investment by the Chicago Bulls, like many other across the city, is helping to drive the revitalization of a great neighborhood.”

The 360 Architecture-designed facility features state-of-the-art equipment and energy efficient technologies, including a specialized sound system and a fiber optic line between the Advocate and United centers. The main level features two full-size basketball courts, locker rooms, coaches’ offices, weight room, media room, and a video room. The second floor of the building includes a green roof terrace, executive offices, a cardio room and conference rooms. 360 Architecture was the architect of record, while McHugh Construction served as general contractor for the project.

“We have looked forward to opening this state-of-the-art training facility and I know the players are especially excited to get in here and start working,” says Michael Reinsdorf, President and COO of the Chicago Bulls.
