CBRE to Lease Ft. Lauderdale-Area Office Development

CBRE has commenced preleasing efforts at University Professional Center, a 63,600-square-foot office development underway in Plantation, Fla. The property, slated for completion in the second quarter of 2019, will be the first office building constructed in Plantation in the last 10 years.

Located at 1248 N. University Drive, the three-story asset will provide custom designed space, according to tenant specifications, with suites individually metered for electric and HVAC use. Tenants will be able to opt for an increased density floorplan, as the parking ratio is 4.6 spaces per 1,000 square feet of leased space.

CBRE Executive Vice President Scott Brenner, Vice Presidents Owen Sagar and Deborah Fink are spearheading leasing on behalf of the property owner, Plantation Professional Plaza.

“Adjacent to Plantation’s emerging technology cluster, University Professional Center will be a state-of-the-art office and medical building featuring up to 42,400 square feet of contiguous space, with 26,800 square feet approved for medical office use. The building is coming out of the ground with an anchor tenant in place, Chetu, a global leader in software development,” Brenner said in a prepared statement.

University Professional Center provides direct access to Interstate 595 and Florida Turnpike. Plantation is only 15 minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale, the Brightline/Virgin Trains USA station, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Interstate 95 and Port Everglades.
