The Paul Halajian Architects-designed facility will total roughly 22,000 square feet of space, and house a new physical therapy facility, faculty offices, two research labs, as well as a conference room on the lower floor, while the second floor will feature office suites that will be used by the six athletic departments.

Built using structural steel and metal-stud frames, the building will comprise a metal exterior, glass curtain wall, and single-ply, torched-down roof system. The new facility’s interior will feature painted gypsum board, wood siding, acoustic tile ceilings, as well as vinyl tack board panels. According to Bernards Vice President Falco DiGiallarndo, “this new addition to the Cal State Fresno campus will provide state-of-the-art facilities and in a pleasing environment that capture extraordinary views of the Sierra Nevada foothills.”

Bernards’ current work involving academic facilities include Santa Monica College, Saddleback Community College, Riverside City College and Crafton Hills College in Yucaipa, Calif.
