Berkadia Adds Three Senior Executives to Its Hospitality Group

Berkadia Commercial Mortgage recently added three experienced managing directors to its hospitality platform.

New York—Commercial real estate giant Berkadia recently expanded its Hotels & Hospitality Group with the addition of three top-tier executives as managing directors.

John DePaul, David Weymer and Mark Morris will each bring more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry to the platform led by Senior Managing Director Andrew Coleman. Coleman joined Berkadia last year from Walker & Dunlop with more than 25 years of hospitality lending experience.

In his new position as managing director, John DePaul will be responsible for the capital markets and asset management and advisory functions of the Hotels & Hospitality Group. Based in Ambler, Pa., DePaul’s primary focus will be to source equity for the company’s clients while also overseeing group operations under Coleman’s direction. DePaul most recently served as executive vice president of strategic advisory and asset management with JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group in New York City. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Philadelphia University.

Based in Washington, D.C., Weymer and Morris will both be responsible for the investment sales function of the platform. With more than three decades of experience in the industry, Weymer joins Berkadia from Lantern Realty Advisors. His track record also includes senior principal positions with Noble Investments and Thayer Lodging Group. Weymer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wake Forest University and is also a licensed attorney.

Mark Morris most recently served as senior vice president at Hunter Hotel Advisors and also has more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Morris brings a team of investment sales professionals to Berkadia which will include John Testerman and Matt Bailly. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Syracuse University and obtained his Certified Hotel Broker (CHB) certification through the Hotel School of Cornell University.
