Bechtel has consolidated its global and operational headquarters in Reston, Va. The engineering, construction and project management company will relocate its Houston and San Francisco offices to One Reston Overlook, where it has been occupying space since 2011. The move is expected to take place by the end of the year and will generate 150 new jobs for the city. The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority facilitated Bechtel’s relocation, marking its third collaboration.

The Boston Properties-owned, 1991-built office asset is located at 12011 Sunset Hills Road and encompasses 319,519 square feet. According to Yardi Matrix, it spreads across 12 stories and includes a 7,000-square-foot retail component. The property is adjacent to the Reston Town Center Silver Line Metro station and is bounded by shops, eateries and entertainment options. The tenant roster also includes Fire Eye, VES and Bridge Bank.

For more than a decade, Bechtel’s corporate leadership has been distributed across Houston, Reston and San Francisco,” Bechtel Chief Operating Officer Jack Futcher, said in a prepared statement. “Consolidating the corporate leadership and operations in Reston will enable the company to thrive in the current fast-paced business environmentone that demands faster and seamless decision-making, integration and collaboration.”

In April, another Boston Properties office asset secured a lease. Cushman & Wakefield arranged a 26,759-square-foot lease on behalf of George P. Johnson for its new location at 200 Clarendon St., located in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood.
