The company purchased Hilton Garden Inn Columbus and Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus, and plans to implement a $3.8 million renovation plan.

Banyan Investment Group has acquired two Columbus, Ga.-based Hilton hotels, the 120-key Hilton Garden Inn Columbus and the 91-suite Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus. The company will operate both hotels.

Located at 1500 Bradley Lake Blvd., close to Interstate 185 in the Brookstone Center Office Park, the Hilton Garden Inn Columbus offers convenient access to the Columbus Metropolitan Airport and to the Columbus Georgia Convention and Trade Center. Common area amenities include:

  • 24-hour business center

  • 1,500 square feet of meeting space
  • hiking trail
  • jogging track
  • swimming pool
Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus

Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus

The Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus is situated at 6614 Whittlesey Blvd., in close proximity to Peachtree Mall and Columbus State University. Additionally, the property is approximately four miles from the Columbus Metropolitan Airport and eight miles from the Coca-Cola Space Science Center. Property amenities include:

  • outdoor swimming pool
  • fitness center
  • laundry facilities
  • 24-hour business center
  • meeting rooms
  • conference facilities
  • banquet room

“These properties meet many of the characteristics of our stringent deal criteria that should allow us to meet or exceed our investment return expectations and thresholds,” Andy Chopra, founding principal & CIO, said in prepared remarks. “We were able to purchase institutional assets built above prototype standards at below replacement costs. Furthermore, these hotels benefit from their ideal location in a market buoyed by a military base, state university and numerous fortune 1,000 companies that have a permanent presence in Columbus.”

Banyan will implement a $3.8 million renovation and enhancements plan to both properties.
