Avison Young has appointed industry veteran Matt Weber as senior vice president in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. Weber will join the capital markets group, where he will be working with John Kevill, managing director of U.S. capital markets, on investment sales primarily in the Washington, D.C. area. He will also be working with principals Wes Boatwright, Mike Yavinsky and Jon Goldstein on debt and equity placement for the firm’s Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern clients.

As a member of the capital markets debt and equity practice and the investment sales practice, Weber will focus on finance and sales for multifamily, office, industrial and retail properties. “Matt will be working on both the sales and JV equity side, and will ensure that our clients get a 360-degree exposure to how various capital structures can be used to drive value,” Kevill said, in a prepared statement.

Prior to joining Avison Young, Weber worked as a broker at MAC Realty Advisors, managed a private equity fund sponsored by NVCommercial and was a portfolio management officer with ING Clarion Partners.

Weber holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Virginia, with a double major in Physics and Philosophy. He also has an MBA from University of North Carolina.
