Peak Development L.L.C. has acquired 21 acres in Bolingbrook, Ill., from Forest City Enterprises.  The parcel is at the southwest corner of Janes Avenue and Falcon Ridge Way, at the northwest corner of Forest City’s 1.1 million-square-foot The Promenade Bolingbrook open-air town center, which is anchored by Macy’s and Bass Pro Shops.  The site is also located near other new large retail developments, including IKEA, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Meijer and Staples. More Net Lease Deals Ahead in Tough Credit Times?

CRIC Capital, a joint venture of Boston-based Corporate Realty Investment Co. and Prudential Real Estate Investors, has closed on a net lease deal involving a 72,000-square-foot to-be-built office and research facility for Amcol Corp. in Hoffman Estates, Ill., a northwest suburb of Chicago.The transaction features a 20-year base lease term. Mortgage financing for the deal was provided by RBS Greenwich Capital.Though this particular deal was fairly modest–$33.5 million–W. Construction Crane That Collapsed in NYC to Be Tested

The remnants of a construction crane that collapsed on Saturday in New York City, killing at least five people, will be sent to a forensics laboratory for testing, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced today. According to a report on Bloomberg.com this morning, the mayor said the Department of Buildings had looked at the crane the day before the accident because high winds were forecast and they were checking on debris. The forensics test will determine whether the crane experienced a mechanical failure. IDS Real Estate Group has revealed plans to develop a 277,600-square-foot office building in Los Angeles’s Westside on a 3.3-acre parcel of land it just acquired in Culver City.
