Summit Hotel Properties Acquires Hampton Inn & Suites for $53 Million in Downtown Austin
Summit Hotel Properties announced the acquisition of the Hampton Inn & Suites, the first property owned by the company in Austin, the home of their corporate offices. The new addition is located downtown, just one block from the Austin Convention Center and Lady bird Lake, in the central district. Summit Hotel Properties, Inc. has a portfolio consisted of 91 hotels, encompassing 11,589 guestrooms in 21 states.
Harbor Group International Announces Sale of Bella Madera Apartments
Harbor Group International, LLC announced the sale of the Bella Madera apartment community to affiliates of Falkin Platnick Realty Group. The property had been acquired by the current seller in November 2007.

Griffis Residential Rebrands Pair of M-F Assets
Griffis Residential recently unveiled the new names of the two Las Vegas area communities it owns. The Denver-based multifamily investment and management firm has baptized the two premium residential assets by introducing the Griffis brand into the new monikers for the properties. As a result, The Wellington Apartments has now become Griffis Summerlin South, while Quest Apartments has been renamed as Griffis Cornerstone Park.
Work Begins at Fountainview at Gonda Senior Living Community in Playa Vista
The latest Playa Vista retirement community is officially under construction as developer C.W. Driver has begun operations at the site of its Fountainview at Gonda Westside campus. The developer’s latest project will take shape on a 2.5 acre lot. The developer is looking to complete the 460,000-square-foot project by 2016. The project will be closely affiliated with the Los Angeles Jewish Home Organization.
VIA Metropolitan Transit Announces Launch of Phase II of Multimodal Project
VIA Metropolitan Transit has begun the construction of the second phase of the Westside Multimodal Transit Center project. Part of VIA’s SmartMove initiative, the Westside Multimodal Transit Center is included in VIA’s 2035 Comprehensive Transportation Plan. This round of the development includes a new transit plaza.
HFF Secures $71M in Financing for Block 67 Project at Burnside Bridgehead
An apartment tower development project in downtown Portland is now underway as financing is now in place for the development team consisting of Guardian Real Estate Services and Key Development Corporation. The funds totaling approximately $71.75 million were provided by financing company Holiday Fenoglio Fowler.

Albuquerque City Council Approves $1.8M for ABQid’s “Business Accelerator”
A contract with a nonprofit group called ABQid worth $1.8 million was approved through an unanimously vote by the Albuquerque City Council. The three-year contract represents a new economic-development strategy dubbed “business accelerator” which aims to help entrepreneurs and start-up companies.
650 California Street Acquired by Columbia Property Trust in $300 Million Deal
650 California Street was recently acquired by Columbia Property Trust, Inc. in a deal completed with owners Tishman Speyer and Prudential Real Estate Investors. The buyer paid a fee of $309 million for the iconic Class A office tower located in San Francisco’s coveted Financial District.
