Ascend Hotel Collection Opens Three Properties In Baltimore
Ascend Hotel Collection announced last week its debut in Baltimore, with the opening of three boutique hotels in the vibrant waterfront neighborhoods of Inner Harbor and historic Fells Point. Just last month, the company expanded its fast-growing portfolio with the addition of new boutique hotels in Napa Valley, Sedona, Carmel and New Orleans, and it plans to open even more properties in such premier destinations as Las Vegas, Aruba, Miami, Orlando and Cape Cod.
Port Authority Starts Demolition at Bond Hill Site to Make Way for $75M Redevelopment
The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development started work on Thursday, March 28, on a project that will redevelop the site of Cincinnati’s first multi-store open-air mall. Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory, Vice Mayor Roxanne Qualls, City Manager Milton Dohoney, Jr., Laura Brunner, President, CEO, Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority, and Hamilton County Commission President Chris Monzel were in attendance as construction crews started tearing down a vacant restaurant and the 32-foot billboard-style Swifton Commons shopping center sign.
Patricio Enterprises Leases 427,000 SF; Virginia Beach Properties Hit the Market
Patricio Enterprises, a defense contractor based in Stafford County, has leased 427,115 square feet of industrial space at 2705 Commerce Road in Richmond from Alleghany Warehouse Company, Inc. The deal represents one of the largest industrial leases of the year. CBRE’s Richmond office brokered the transaction.

Laurus Corporation has completed the acquisition of the Baltimore Hunt Valley Inn located in Baltimore, Maryland. The U.S.-based private real estate investment and development firm made the announcement on March 26.
Prologis Lands SpeedFC for 770 KSF Build-to-Suit Distribution Facility in Etna
Prologis, Inc. has signed a new build-to-suit agreement with SpeedFC, Inc., a Dallas-based subsidiary of Navarre, for a 770,000-square-foot distribution center in Etna, Ohio. The San Francisco-based global owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate made the announcement on Monday, March 25.
Cleveland Clinic Plans to Expand Brunswick Facility
Cleveland Clinic plans to expand its medical building at 3574 Center Road, in Brunswick. The city’s Planning Commission approved preliminary site plans on March 7. Another review will take place on April 4. The clinic will then present more detailed site plans, including renderings of the building.

Campus Apartments, Howard University to Develop $107M Student Housing Project
Campus Apartments, LLC, the oldest and one of the largest privately held student housing companies in the nation, announced on March 19 it will develop two new on-campus residential facilities for the Howard University. The project has an estimated cost of $107 million and is expected to energize the southeast core of the campus.
