American Realty Advisors has hired Shelley Santulli as the company’s new executive vice president of portfolio management. Santulli possesses upwards of 26 years of real estate investment management experience, approximately 20 years of which were spent on the principal side of investing on behalf of institutions. In her new role, Santulli will work to develop and carry out strategies relating to the firm’s value added fund and cultivate strategic business initiatives and develop new products with ARA’s leadership.

Prior to her move to ARA, Santulli served as the managing director & head of strategy and business development for Berkshire Group, a position she held for four years. Prior to this role, she held a number of senior real estate investment management leadership positions with The Congress Group, Broadview Investors, AEW Capital Management, Fidelity Investments and other organizations.

“We are pleased to have Shelley join our team and bring her extensive experience to add to ARA’s existing portfolio management resources. Having Shelley in this leadership role will contribute significantly to the growth and success of our funds and to our ability to produce competitive returns for our clients,” said Kirk Helgeson, chief investment officer of ARA, in a prepared statement.

Last June, American Realty Advisors relocated its headquarters from Glendale, Calif. into 40,000 square feet of downtown office space on the 49th floor of Los Angeles’ City National Plaza’s north tower.
