Branch Design Breaks Ground on 176-Unit Market-Rate Apartments in Sante Fe

Branch Design and Development announced it would break ground on the 176-unit San Isidro Apartments in Santa Fe this week. The New Mexican reported that this was Santa Fe’s first large market-rate apartment community in 15 years. The financing for the project is provided by Key Bank Real Estate Capital, while the construction and permanent loan is guaranteed by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the New Mexico Business Weekly reported.

Architect Chosen to Design $8.6M Eddy County Sherrif’s Offices

Albuquerque-based Van H. Gilbert Architect PC (VHGA) has won the bid to design the new Eddy County Sheriff’s Department offices. The $8.6 million project already has most of the financing necessary fior construction. New Mexico Business Weekly quoted County Manager Allen Sartin saying that $2 million for the law enforcement complex had been set aside, and another $5 million would be allocated the next year.

Sanbusco Market Center Sold at Auction to GE Capital Affiliate

Santa Fe’s Sanbusco Market Center was sold at auction to its lender. An affiliate of General Electric Capital Corp. bought it for $8.8 million, the value of the loan, thus ending 28 years of ownership by Joseph Schepps, according to the New Mexico Business Weekly.

Albuquerque Plans $20M Facelift for Convention Center

Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry recently unveiled a $20 million plan to redesign the exterior of the Albuquerque Convention Center. Twenty-one years have passed since the Convention Center, built in 1972, received a fresh look, according to Cvent Blog. he redesign will focus on the center’s west end and will turn it into a space that represents Albuquerque and New Mexico, much like the Albuquerque International Sunport, reported New Mexico Business Weekly.
