Ackerman & Co. signed a 15-year lease with the State Office of Vital Records and State Office of EMS and Trauma at 1680 Phoenix Blvd., a 28,275-square-foot office building in College Park, Ga. The property is part of the eight-building, 300,000-square-foot Phoenix Office Park in Atlanta’s Airport/College Park submarket.
Frank Farrell, senior vice president of leasing for Ackerman & Co., worked on behalf of the landlord, while Erin Smith, director at Cushman & Wakefield, represented the tenants. Relocating from 2600 Skyland Drive in Brookhaven, Ga., the two departments will occupy the entire building at 1680 Phoenix Blvd. The Georgia Department of Public Health marked the opening of the new location with a ribbon-cutting event.
The two-story, Class A office building was constructed in 1991 and will serve as the new administrative offices for the two tenants, in addition to providing storage space for public health records. Amenities at the 100-acre Phoenix Office Park include a conference facility, on-site property management and security. The office park is within minutes from the entrance of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and near the College Park MARTA rail station.
“Phoenix Office Park provides much-improved office space as well as a strong technology infrastructure that ensures the efficient operation of these vital state offices,” said Farrell, in a prepared statement. “The upgraded space will also enable the Office of Vital Records to carry out its plan to update its records storage. We’re very pleased to accommodate the long-term space needs of these two Department of Public Health offices,” he added.
