CPE Executive Council: AI Won’t Replace This! (Hopefully)
Find out which aspects of commercial real estate will always require the human touch.

AI has made a lot of parts of our jobs easier. But it can’t do everything. And that’s a good thing! This month, the CPE Executive Council shares which aspects of commercial real estate will always require the human touch.

Rewarding Relationships
The relationship side of the business. Technology can make us more efficient and provide better insights, but earning a client’s trust, understanding their priorities and helping them navigate important decisions is what makes this industry rewarding. That’s something I believe will always require a human touch. —Puja Doshi, CFO, NAI Hiffman | Hiffman

Earning Trust
AI can be excellent at searching records, identifying inconsistencies, drafting documents and automating routine workflows. But earning a client’s trust during a high-stakes transaction and making nuanced underwriting decisions based on incomplete or conflicting information is something that benefits greatly from human expertise and building a relationship. I have found it beneficial from the business development side of the fence that my clients know our decision-makers so they can always pick up the phone and have someone to talk through certain things that have come up on a property’s title. —Michael Stump, Vice President of National Commercial Business Development, Proper Title

Building Connections
I’m hope that AI never replaces the importance of one-on-one connection with professionals and the months and months that it takes to develop those relationships. An in-person meeting can be 100x more important than a phone call or virtual meeting. The same can be said about an in-person meeting when comparing it to AI to develop a relationship with someone in CRE. —Dave Ebeling, Owner, Ebeling Communications
