DHL Supply Chain has completed Annville Center of Excellence, its 1 million-square-foot distribution center in Annville, Pa. The facility, slated to begin operations later this year, will serve companies in the life sciences and health-care sectors.

The logistics center is at 700 Killinger Road within Clear Springs Logistics Park, close to U.S. routes 422 and 322 in the Harrisburg, Pa., submarket. The location is also 12 miles from another DHL distribution center, a 1 million-square-foot facility in Lebanon, Pa.

At the end of last year, nearly 3.9 million square feet of industrial space were underway in Harrisburg, according to Yardi Matrix information. Meanwhile, industrial completions amounted to 2.3 million square feet.

DHL acquired the development site in 2022, according to Central Penn Business Journal. Harris Architects Inc. provided architecture services, while Peak Construction served as general contractor.

Designed with an FDA- and GMP-compliant infrastructure, Annville Center of Excellence has 100 dock doors, 230 trailer parking stalls, 250 employee parking spots, EV charging stations and temperature-controlled environments for biologics and specialty drugs.

Last year, DHL Supply Chain acquired SDS Rx and CryoPDP, a final-mile health-care transportation service and a specialty delivery company providing logistics services for clinical trials, biopharma and cell and gene therapies, respectively. Both purchases are part of DHL’s strategy to continue to specialize in life science and health-care logistics by 2030.
