Cleveland Clinic Tops Out 2 Research Buildings
The facilities will add 300,000 square feet to the health-care system's main campus.

Health-care provider Cleveland Clinic has topped out two research buildings totaling 300,000 square feet. Rising at the intersection of East 100th Street and Cedar Avenue, they represent a significant expansion of laboratory space on the clinic’s main campus near downtown Cleveland.
Construction on both buildings began in early 2023, with anticipated completion in November 2025 and March 2026, respectively. The project, partially funded through philanthropic gifts, was designed by Cleveland Clinic Buildings + Design in collaboration with HOK Architects & Vanderweil Engineers. Upon delivery, the facilities will feature research laboratories, dedicated classroom space, offices and a café. There will be greenspace, landscaping and walking paths that will provide a new entrance to the southeast section of the Cleveland Clinic’s main campus.
The northeast building will total about 170,000 square feet and be home to a variety of research laboratories, including the Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Global Center for Pathogen & Human Health Research. The northwest building will be about 120,000 square feet, designed for specialty research facilities and core services.
Cleveland Clinic continues expansion
The research buildings are the latest in the ongoing expansion of Cleveland Clinic, which opened 45,000 square feet of remodeled space that houses laboratories in late 2023. Several of the system’s research programs are housed in this space, including the Center for Computational Life Sciences, Center for Immunotherapy and Precision Immuno-oncology, and the Center for Therapeutics Discovery.
Cleveland Clinic is a 6,728-bed health system that has its 173-acre main campus near the city’s downtown, at 9500 Euclid Ave. The system also has 23 hospitals and 280 other outpatient facilities, including locations in Ohio, Florida, Nevada, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.
