Mercedes-Benz Financial Services has broken ground on its new, 200,000-square-foot greenfield development in Fort Worth, Texas. The site is located in AllianceTexas, a 26,000-acre master planned community owned by Hillwood Properties. The four-story office building is expected to open in early 2019.

Green design, inside and out

Located between Fort Worth Alliance Airport and Interstate 35 West, the structure will be erected less than a mile north of the firm’s current facility at 13650 Heritage Parkway. Upon completion, the open-plan building will feature a wide range of amenities, including a fitness center and a walking trail around the adjacent lake. The architect, BOKA Powell, designed the property and its surrounding landscape to minimize its carbon footprint by using local materials, a drip-irrigation system and drought-resistant plants.

“Texas has played an important role in our history, and we are excited to continue and grow our presence in this great state with a new contemporary, technologically advanced operations center,” said Peter Zieringer, president & CEO of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, in a prepared statement. “The new facility enhances our ability to provide a dynamic atmosphere that inspires and excites our employees.”

Cushman & Wakefield facilitated the long-term lease between Mercedes-Benz and Hillwood. A JLL team is overseeing the project on behalf of the tenant. SmithGroupJJR will provide interior architecture and design services.
