Berkadia Appoints New Managing Director in KC Office

Kansas City, Mo.—Berkadia has recently announced the hiring of Managing Director John Schorgl in its Kansas City office. He will report to Warren Higgins, Berkadia’s Executive Vice President and Head of Mortgage Banking.

John Schorgl specializes in the placement of debt and equity for commercial and multifamily real estate projects nationwide. As an expert in placing loans with life insurance companies, conduit lenders, banks and each of the agency lenders including FHA/HUD, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Schorgl brings more than 20 years of real estate experience to Berkadia.

“John is a welcome addition to our robust mortgage banking team in Kansas City. His strong relationships with valued partners and agency lenders will benefit our clients immensely and we look forward to growing our production in the Midwest as a result,” said Higgins.

Prior to joining Berkadia, Schorgl was co-founder and partner of JC Cap, having previously served as a senior director at Marcus & Millichap and principal in Johnson Capital’s Kansas City office.

Schorgl, who was awarded CCIM designation in 2010, earned a B. S. in business administration degree in finance and accounting from the University of Missouri and a Master’s degree in business administration from Rockhurst University.
