Capella Washington, D.C., Hotel Sells for $65M, Gets New Brand, Management
Now rebranded as the Rosewood Washington, D.C., the 49-key ultra-luxury Georgetown hotel will be managed by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.

Washington—The 49-key luxury Capella Washington, D.C., recently traded for $65 million. New York-based RobertDouglas represented the seller, Castleton Hotel Partners. The hotel was bought by an affiliate of CTF Development International. The new owner appointed Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to take over management of the upscale property and rebranded the hotel as Rosewood Washington, D.C.
Situated at 1050 31st St. and overlooking the Chesapeake & Ohio (C&O) Canal, the Rosewood Washington, D.C. is nestled halfway between Georgetown University and the Washington Circle, offering quick access to many upscale Georgetown amenities and retailers, as well as convenient links to downtown D.C. Being close to I-66, I-395 and the George Washington Memorial Parkway, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ first property in the Capital is easy to reach from both Virginia and Maryland locations, as well as from Ronald Reagan, Baltimore/Washington International and Dulles International airports.
The hotel first opened in April 2013, under the supervision of Bruce Bradley, president of Castleton Holdings. “When we originally acquired the historic office building, we immediately knew the location presented a unique opportunity to achieve something spectacular, providing immediate access to the heart of vibrant Georgetown, while simultaneously serving as a quiet retreat,” said Bradley in a prepared remark.
The Rosewood Washington, D.C. offers many upscale, onsite amenities, including 24-hour rooftop fitness center and pool, rooftop bar and lounge, full-service signature restaurant, spa services, private lounge, private dining room, executive boardroom, rooftop event space, airport transfers, concierge services and up-to-date in-room technology.
