Considering the massive changes that The Bloc is going through, its latest tenant addition is appropriate. Global design firm DLR Group signed on to take over more than a floor of the building owned by The Ratkovich Company. The leasing process was handled by Darren Eades, Mike McKeever and Jordan Gaffney of JLL on behalf of the new tenant, while the landlord was represented by CBRE.

Located at 700 S. Flower St. in Los Angeles’ downtown area, The Bloc offers 737,710 square feet of office space over 32 floors. The typical floor size is of around 24,000 square feet of space and DLR will be taking over the 22nd floor in its entirety, as well as a large chunk of the 23rd floor.

An integrated design firm that provides architecture, engineering, planning and interior design for its clients, DLR will take over a total of 35,362 square feet of space.

The company is bringing its two Los Angeles area offices under one roof at the Bloc, a space that the company believes “demonstrates their collaborative and creative work environment”, Darren Eades said. Merging the Pasadena and Santa Monica offices of DLR will bring 150 employees to The Bloc.
