Nashville is finally getting a long-awaited Lexus dealership. But the new 58,000-square-foot Lexus location will be far beyond a simple car dealership. The facility under construction at the 7.2-acre site at the corner of Rosa Parks Blvd. and Interstate 65 in Madison has been described as a retail and service center. It will feature a 61,540-square-foot outdoor display area, an 11,640-square-foot enclosed sales area as well as 42 service bays.
“This is the first time that Lexus will have a retail and service center in Nashville’s center, and we’re very excited to bring Lexus sales inside Nashville’s urban core,” said J.R. Roper, Lexus of Nashville’s general manager. Todd Alexander, principal for Southeast Venture, added, “Lexus bought this property about four years ago, and their development plans play perfectly into the major new interchange in the immediate MetroCenter area. It’s a great location. You’ll be able to see the dealership from the interstate, and MetroCenter’s proximity to downtown and Interstates 65 and 40 will give potential buyers easy access into the new dealership.” Potential buyers will be able to choose from both new and pre-owned Lexus models.
Todd Alexander and Jimmy Pickel, both of Southeast Venture, brokered the original deal. Project management is being handled by TPC Management, while Atlanta-based Zenner Group was selected for architecture and interior design. Barge Cauthen & Associates is the project’s engineer, while construction will be executed by J.E. Crain and Sons.
Upon completion, the car dealership will add up to 80 new jobs.
In other news, the Nashville Post reports construction permits are being filed for significant work at Bellevue Baptist. The church, located on Highway 70, plans to expand into existing structures on the property: Building A is to receive a 13,500-square-foot expansion spread on two stories, while Building B will increase its size by 2,210 square feet. The church parking lot will be enlarged as well. Solomon Builders will be executing the $2.65 million project. Not included in the cost is the redevelopment of an onsite residence into administrative space.
