The Sheraton Memphis Downtown has officially opened, hosting a grand opening ceremony with local officials in attendance.

The 600-key, 19-story hotel is located at 250 North Main Street, adjacent to the 350,000-square-foot Memphis-Cook Convention Center. It features 16 versatile meeting spaces, amounting to a total of 12,000 square feet, with the largest meeting space clocking in at 4,600 square feet, capable of holding 400. Additional amenities include a business center, indoor heated pool with outside balcony, a Sheraton Fitness Center with a signature fitness program, high-speed Wi-Fi throughout; dining options include the Trolley Stop and Magnolia Grille.

The property is in close proximity to Beale Street, FedEx Forum, AutoZone Park, Orpheum Theatre, Mud Island and the Mississippi Riverfront. It is also on the Main Street historic trolley line service, which provides easy to Memphis landmarks such as the National Civil Rights Museum and the South Main Historic Arts District.

As previously reported on this page, until recently, the four-star meeting hotel was Marriott-branded. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. announced the addition of the property to its Sheraton brand in August. The property was to undergo a multimillion-dollar value-add renovation, now completed, of guest rooms as well as public areas to incorporate Sheraton amenities.

The Sheraton Memphis Downtown is owned by Host Hotels & Resorts, the largest lodging REIT, and operated by local award-winning, full-service hotel management company Davidson Hotel & Resorts.
