The Building Owners and Managers Association rewarded 55 Allen Plaza with The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) award in the environmental stewardship “Earth” category for the second year in a row. The honor was announced on April 8 at the 2017 BOMA Southern Region Conference held in Atlanta.

55 Allen Plaza, managed by Lincoln Property Co. Southeast, is a 341,741-square-foot Class A office building completed in 2007. The LEED Gold certified asset is part of the Allen Plaza mixed-use development and located within walking distance of the W-Atlanta Downtown Hotel & Residences, Centennial Olympic Park, retail and restaurants.

“55 Allen Plaza is unquestionably one of the best Class A office buildings in Atlanta, and this award reinforces that fact,” said Lincoln’s Vice President of Management Services Shane Froman in prepared remarks. “Our tenants appreciate that we operate 55 Allen Plaza with a commitment to environmental responsibility. This award demonstrates we are living up to that goal,” Froman added.

With the regional award, the 14-story asset is in the running for the BOMA International TOBY Awards scheduled for June in Nashville, Tenn. In 2013, 55 Allen Plaza was designated as a BOMA 360 Performance Building for high standards in building operation and management.

The TOBY Awards acknowledge building and management companies who demonstrate excellence in the commercial real estate industry. The criteria used in selecting winners are operating efficiency, environmental achievements and tenant amenities created to set apart buildings in their class locally, regionally and internationally.
