Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center – Delta Atrium

Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center leaders are considering expanding the facility with the addition of a three-to four-acre upscale water park, the Nashville Post reports. The water complex would be open year-round, but will be accessible exclusively by guests. According to the Nashville Post, the concept is similar to that of Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center’s Paradise Springs 10-acre lazy river and pool facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. If green-lit, Gaylord Opryland’s water park will include both indoor and outdoor pool areas and water activities, a wave pool, water coaster, intense actions water slides, water sports, private cabanas, lawn games, restaurants and eateries, retail pots, special water and play areas for children, dedicated pools and social areas for adults only.

Sprawling on 172 acres and boasting 2,882 guest rooms, the Gaylord Opryland Hotel is the largest non-gaming hotel in the continental U.S. It is also one of the top convention destinations in the country, based on the number of conventions held, exhibit space and the number of rooms. The property features 600,000 square feet of total event space, 152 event rooms, with the largest room capable of holding 7,050, six ballrooms and 92 breakout rooms, a business center and onsite FedEx office. The resort also features a Scottish links-style, par-72, 18-hole, Larry Nelson-designed golf course on the banks of the Cumberland River, a 20,000-square-foot spa, a fitness center, two outdoor heated pools, an indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, jogging trail, game room, 17 dining and bar locations, and the Wildhorse Saloon restaurant, bar and concert venue.
