Denton is a city in the county seat of Denton County, Texas. It is located on the northern part of the DFW Metroplex. These three cities form the area known as the "Golden Triangle of North Texas." The most recent city population is 138,541. Denton is the 11th largest city in the metroplex and 27th largest city in Texas. Denton is widely known for their music life and all the music festivals it hosts, like the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival and 35 Denton Music Festival, that attract over 300,000 people each year. The Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton, only 5 minutes away, was recognized by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) as one of modern hospitals which are scientifically measured and assessed to have high-quality health care services for promoting health and improving the quality of life. The top employers in the area are the universities, the local school district, and Peterbilt Motors. Nearby major corporations have their offices such as FedEx, Toyota, State Farm Insurance, Amazon, and Bank of America. Conveniently off Interstate 35, both Dallas and Fort Worth are about 40-45 minutes away. All of the major sports teams are within that drive and so is Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor.
