DICK’S House of Sport to Open 1st Retail Space in Nashville, Tenn., Market
Chattanooga, Tenn.-based real estate investment trust CBL Properties recently announced the addition of a new tenant to its regional mall property in Franklin, Tenn. Specifically, the CoolSprings Galleria will be home to the first DICK’S House of Sport store in the greater Nashville, Tenn., area.
JCPenney is expected to close its space at the property this fall, following the expiration of its lease. As such, it creates an opportunity for redevelopment that solidifies CoolSprings Galleria as a premier shopping, dining, entertainment and mixed-use destination.
DICK’S House of Sport joining CoolSprings Galleria will bring one of the most sought-after dynamic experiential concepts to retail space in Nashville. Work on the new store will begin after JCPenney vacates the space. The opening is anticipated to be in early 2028.
“We are pleased to announce that the first DICK’S House of Sport in the greater Nashville area will be located at CoolSprings Galleria,” said Stephen D. Lebovitz, chief executive officer of CBL Properties. “Together with the July grand opening of CBL’s first L.L.Bean and our recent land sale to Greystar to develop an upscale multifamily development, these additions are truly transformational for the property. This progress reflects the strength of CoolSprings Galleria and our continued focus on adding high-impact uses that enhance the customer experience and long-term value of our properties.”
DICK’S House of Sport is an experiential store larger than 100,000 square feet that provides customers with a notable assortment of products, as well as with in-store activities, such as access to a climbing wall; multiple golf bays with TrackMan™ simulators; and a HitTrax™ multi-sport cage that can be used for baseball, softball and soccer.
CoolSprings Galleria is part of a national portfolio of market-dominant properties that CBL Properties owns and manages located in dynamic and growing communities — 88 properties totaling 55.6 million square feet across 23 states. More specifically, the portfolio includes 55 high-quality enclosed malls, outlet centers and lifestyle retail centers, as well as more than 25 open-air centers and other assets.
