Convene — a global operator of flexible meeting, event and shared office spaces — recently unveiled Venue 42 by Convene, a new flexible meeting and conference center located at 5 Times Square in Midtown Manhattan. The center will occupy 30,000 square feet of the Kohn Pedersen Fox-designed building, which is leased long-term to RXR Realty.

Branded as an upscale lifestyle hospitality operator, Convene plans to open the conference center to benefit from the flight to quality and on-demand conferencing services that currently define the industry. As office tenants seek leeway, flexible event and conference spaces gain more significance alongside full-fledged coworking offices. Accordingly, Venue 42 will include nine meeting rooms — the largest of which can hold up to 240 people — that are customizable for a wide array of events. Convene also offers an advanced experience for customers defined by fully serviced event production resources, catering and A/V team.

Notably, 5 Times Square stands at the southern edge of Times Square, featuring three floors of retail space and an entrance to the Times Square subway station.

“The way we work has changed greatly the past few years and, with it, the way we think about the workplace,” said Alex Adelman, vice president of managed services at Convene. “Companies are not just demanding quality spaces, but a hospitality-driven experience for their employees. We’re seeing the flight-to-experience manifest at Convene, where Midtown Manhattan continues to be one of the top-performing markets for us. Demand for meeting and event space in the area remains strong, and we’re proud to once again be partnering with RXR Realty to create an exceptional amenity space and conference center at 5 Times Square.”

Venue 42 is set to debut in March 2024, marking Convene’s fifth collaboration with RXR Realty. The operator’s network now includes 40 premium meeting, event, and flexible office spaces across several brands in NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., as well as several locations in the United Kingdom.
