Amalgamated Bank of Chicago (ABOC), recently announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters and the opening of a new full-service branch in Chicago’s Loop neighborhood.

Located at the corner of Wacker Drive and Washington Street, the new corporate home of ABOC encompassed 40,000 square feet of Chicago office space, as well as a retail component. The office portion includes two floors dedicated to executive offices and operational teams, while the retail space serves a new full-service branch on the ground floor of 101 N. Wacker Dr.

“This move represents much more than a change of address,” said Nick Weaver, CEO and president of ABOC. “It is a testament to the success, stability, and momentum we’ve built as a bank. We’re excited to create a modern, welcoming space that enhances the customer experience, brings our employees together and positions ABOC for continued growth as we serve Chicago and our customers for generations to come.”

Building on more than a century of being active, the Amalgamated Bank of Chicago has grown since its founding in 1922 into a leading commercial bank that serves unions, public entities, businesses, and individuals nationwide.

This relocation marks the latest milestone in the bank’s continued evolution and underscores its relationship-driven approach to banking, as well as its long-term investment in Chicago.

Upon opening, the new branch will feature dedicated banker offices, teller and customer service areas, an ATM, night-deposit capabilities, and an open layout that overlooks the renovated building lobby, as well as the Chicago Loop business community.

Designed to improve accessibility and convenience, the ABOC branch offers customers a centrally located downtown destination for both commercial and personal banking needs.

“This is also an investment in our people and our culture,” Weaver added. “We want our employees to feel valued, supported and at home while creating an environment that encourages high performance and close communication.”

The headquarters office space was designed to support collaboration, productivity and evolving workplace technology, and includes: open work areas, private offices, meeting rooms, a boardroom, reception and café spaces, and a dedicated Trust and Investment Center. Notable on-site features also include an employee amenity floor and an open lounge that provide additional gathering spaces.
