The asset sold for $157 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stockdale led the acquisition, while Hamilton Lane served as a co-investor. The property\u2019s previous owner was Dunhill Partners, according to Yardi Matrix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Shoppes at Chino Hills was originally developed in 2008. Designed as a walkable environment, it includes a central promenade, seasonal events, farmers markets and family-oriented programming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity has-very-light-gray-to-cyan-bluish-gray-gradient-background has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LISTEN TO: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/investment-matters-stockdale-capitals-power-moves\/\">Investment Matters: Stockdale Capital&#8217;s Power Moves<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity has-very-light-gray-to-cyan-bluish-gray-gradient-background has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Anchored by Trader Joe\u2019s and Barnes &amp; Noble, the center features a mix of national retailers, restaurants and experiential tenants, including Afters Ice Cream, Club Pilates, YogaSix, Yard House Bar &amp; Grill, Sephora and Madison Reed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The more-than-25-acre site at 13920 City Center Drive is located 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The property\u2019s metro area has a population of more than 4.7 million people, according to Stockdale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new owners will tweak the center\u2019s name to The Shops at Chino Hills and plan to carry out a rebranding, remerchandising and repositioning strategy in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The property was marketed for sale by the CBRE team of Senior Vice President Jimmy Slusher and Executive Vice President Mark Damiani, Vice President James Tyrrell and Investment Sales Analyst Shaya Northrup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-opportunities-in-the-open-air\">Opportunities in the open air<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Stockdale\u2019s announcement of this acquisition remarked on the resilience that open-air retail centers have shown in recent years, as consumers continue to gravitate toward accessible, convenience-driven environments where shopping, dining, entertainment and community experiences intersect. Retailers have also increasingly prioritized high-performing lifestyle centers that deliver strong daily traffic, meaningful customer engagement and long-term market relevance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In February, Stockdale, in collaboration with UBS\u2019s Unified Global Alternatives \u2013 Real Estate business, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/stockdale-ubs-recap-1-1-msf-denver-mall\/\">completed the recapitalization<\/a> of the 1.1 million-square-foot The Shops at Northfield, Denver\u2019s most-visited open-air lifestyle center.
