Vanderslice will succeed longtime CEO Lisa Pendergast, who announced plans in March to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/lisa-pendergast-to-step-down-as-crefcs-chief\/\">retire in August<\/a>. Ed DeAngelo has served as interim president &amp; CEO during the transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vanderslice has more than three decades of experience in commercial real estate finance and a longstanding history with CREFC. He spent more than 30 years at Citigroup, where he held senior leadership positions and helped build the firm&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/cmbs-choices-conduits-vs-the-competition\/\">CMBS<\/a> business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He later served as CEO of CCRE before joining BMO Capital Markets in 2020. He currently serves as the firm&#8217;s head of CMBS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vanderslice has been a CREFC member for about 30 years. He previously chaired the organization&#8217;s Executive Committee and Board of Governors from 2012 to 2013 and currently serves on the Board of Governors. He has also been a member of various committees and forums and participated in CREFC conference panels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this new role, Vanderslice will lead CREFC\u2019s efforts in advocacy, market intelligence, education, industry standards and member engagement across the commercial and multifamily real estate finance industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The leadership change comes as commercial real estate finance executives continue to navigate elevated interest rates and refinancing challenges.
