The tenant will occupy five floors and will be anchoring the future office tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One other noteworthy large office lease in Plaza District was the&nbsp;275,000-square-foot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/bxp-lands-275-ksf-office-lease-in-manhattan\/\">commitment at BXP&#8217;s 343 Madison Ave.<\/a> Investment and insurance firm Starr inked a 20-year deal earlier this year at BXP&#8217;s office skyscraper, which is currently under construction. The project is scheduled for completion in 2029.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/how-office-developments-returning-to-the-top-tier\/\">class A office projects underway<\/a> in the Plaza District include Extell Development&#8217;s 655 Madison Ave., a 233,000-square-foot future mid-rise, as well as Rolex&#8217;s future U.S. headquarters, at 665 Fifth Ave., a 25-story asset scheduled for delivery this year, according to Yardi Matrix information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-old-makes-way-for-the-new-at-625-madison-ave\">The old makes way for the new at 625 Madison Ave.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Designed by Foster + Partners and Gensler, the 858,500-square-foot 625 Madison Ave. is slated for completion in 2029. Vertical construction at the 680-foot development began this summer. The high-rise has emerged as one of the first new, ground-up Class AA office projects to be completed in the Plaza District in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Related Cos. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/sl-green-sells-625-madison-ave-inks-new-leases\/\">paid $632.5 million to SL Green<\/a> in 2023 to purchase the former 1950s-completed office building. The new ownership demolished the previous 17-story property and began construction on the same parcel. Initial plans for the new 625 Madison Ave. revolved around a 66-story multifamily tower, <a href=\"https:\/\/newyorkyimby.com\/2025\/12\/demolition-complete-for-1264-foot-supertall-at-625-madison-avenue-in-midtown-east-manhattan.html?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">New York YIMBY<\/a> wrote last winter, with 101 luxury condominium units and 75,000 square feet of retail space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon completion, Related Cos.&#8217;s office property will be in proximity to the firm&#8217;s other office assets in the Central Park area, namely the 1.8 million-square-foot Deutsche Bank Center at 10 Columbus Circle and the upcoming 1.4 million-square-foot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/related-cos-oxford-properties-complete-2-5b-capitalization-of-hudson-yards-tower\/\">70 Hudson Yards office development<\/a> at 517 W 36th St.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The anchor tenant will have its global headquarters at the future tower.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3619,"featured_media":1004782940,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[21784,21782,1600,21742,10,21747],"tags":[32879,33012,32952],"class_list":["post-1004810921","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-brokerage","category-development","category-new-york","category-latest","category-northeast","category-office","tag-foster-partners","tag-gensler","tag-related-companies"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v28.0 (Yoast SEO v28.0) -
