It\u2019s an anxiety-provoking time that lays the foundation for both personal and professional growth. Career assumptions, navigating a new day-to-day routine after college and initial mistakes are expected during these times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the inaugural episode of <em>The Learning Curve<\/em>, Kidder Mathews Senior Associate Tobias Hipp shares his firsthand experience of what his career in industrial brokerage has entailed thus far and what has kept him going over the first few years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI had never had a sales job before,\u201d Hipp said. Starting out as a junior associate, Hipp relied on a strong work ethic\u2014putting in 12-hour days, making cold calls and building a strong network\u2014to turn a dream into a career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through his experience, Hipp has learned how to navigate clients\u2019 emotions and what to do when deals aren\u2019t getting done. He says the commission is a great perk of the job and doesn\u2019t hurt when it comes to staying motivated.
