When we first started discussing this list, a main concern was that we’d end up with a directory of the usual suspects in the commercial real estate space, a who’s who of the top CRE podcasting brass. It did not turn out to be the case. Don’t get us wrong, you’ll find many of the usual fixtures, but we ended up with much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From pure-play CRE talks delivered by big names in the business to tech-, culture-, architecture- and economy-focused spaces, you’ll find below a great mix for deepening industry knowledge, being on top of all new trends, discovering people and organizations and sparking ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(And while we’re on the subject, don’t forget that Commercial Property Executive<\/em> has its own lineup of great CRE podcasts<\/a>. Give those a look and listen as well!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just waiting for them to invite some of CRE’s impressive females onto the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.<\/strong> I like the TreppWire podcast<\/a><\/strong> because it makes market data, lending trends and what\u2019s happening across property types easy to understand. They usually bring on senior execs, so you\u2019re getting insights straight from the people making the decisions. It\u2019s a really convenient way to keep up with what\u2019s going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.<\/strong> The Bloomberg Intelligence series covers a lot of ground, mainly focused on in-depth dives in general business analysis, the financial sector, new tech for investors, as well as health care, green energy and policy. One of the key subjects I’m following in particular is AI trends and their market impact, tackled in the Tech Disruptors segment<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.<\/strong> I love listening to Mark Zandi and the Moody’s Analytics economist team on Moody’s Inside Economics<\/a><\/strong>. They make the economy so interesting and approachable!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.<\/strong> The 99% Invisible podcast<\/strong><\/a> investigates \u201cthe ninety-nine percent invisible activity that shapes our world.\u201d In other words, it’s exploring the hidden design and architecture of everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.<\/strong> Freakonomics Radio<\/a><\/strong> also looks into the hidden side of day-to-day reality\u2014using economics, data and storytelling to show why people and systems behave the way they do. Freakonomics co-author Stephen J. Dubner is the host.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.<\/strong> Planet Money<\/strong><\/a> is another good NPR one. I like that it presents economic and business issues in a narrative-driven, accessible way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.<\/strong> Justin Smith of Lee & Associates hosts Industrial Insights<\/a><\/strong>, a particularly informing biweekly podcast focused on market dynamics and industrial-use property management, as well as strategic insights relevant to logistics, manufacturing and industrial leasing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olivia Bunescu, Senior Associate Editor<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

9.<\/strong> For Everything Coworking<\/a><\/strong>, Jamie Russo brings her insights following years of experience in the field to discuss, well, everything coworking. I particularly like that she includes her perspective in standalone episodes and also showcases the stories of her guests, making it a must-listen for the niche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabriel Frank, Senior Associate Editor<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

10.<\/strong> Walker & Dunlop CEO Willy Walker interviews a host of real estate industry figures, politicans and celebrities for the Walker Webcast<\/a><\/strong>. I like this podcast because it not only has valuable insights from the finance and investment world but a lot of great discussions on topics from leadership to techno-futurism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Madalina Pojoga, Associate Editor<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

11.<\/strong> The Building Culture podcast<\/a><\/strong>, hosted by Austin Tunnell, delivers industry knowledge that combines architecture, liberal arts, construction and real estate. It examines urbanism, affordability, zoning, design standards, etc. Debuting in 2023, the podcast’s main strength is this intersection of expertise from various fields that can only enrich any real estate discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anca Gagiuc, Senior Associate Editor<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

12.<\/strong> On Point With Meghna Chakrabarti<\/a><\/strong> fits the analyst brain: concise, deeply reported conversations that connect policy, housing and the broader economy, with experts who explain what moves markets and cities. Episodes are commute-length and idea-dense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

13.<\/strong> New York Times’ The Daily<\/a><\/strong> delivers clear, 20-minute deep dives on the biggest stories explained by the reporters who broke them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

14.<\/strong> I think CREWcast<\/a><\/strong> brings real talk to CRE. Alison Beddard, the CREW Network CEO, is the host. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like it because it offers thoughtful, candid conversations that go beyond titles to explore real experiences, insights and career paths. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

16.<\/strong> While not limited to just U.S. real estate, CBRE\u2019s Weekly Take<\/strong><\/a> dives into a wide range of markets, trends and topics. Each episode explores a different CRE angle and may get rather niche, just perfect for when you\u2019re looking to close an IOS deal or get the best out of your property\u2019s insurance. I follow this series precisely for its diverse choice of topics. There’s something for everybody!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bogdan Odagescu, Senior Editor<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

17.<\/strong> Even when trying hard, many podcasts fail to actually be fun. And that can include comedians. The Promote Podcast<\/a><\/strong> hits the spot without losing depth. Lighthearted but not light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

18.<\/strong> Newsroom Robots<\/a><\/strong> is the only podcast that I know that’s exclusively exploring the intersection of AI and journalism. The guest list is pretty impressive.
