The upcoming facility will feature colocation, interconnection, cloud, data protection and professional services, with infrastructure designed for enterprise, cloud workloads and artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity has-very-light-gray-to-cyan-bluish-gray-gradient-background has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>READ ALSO<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/data-center-industry-trends\/\">Data Center Industry Trends<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity has-very-light-gray-to-cyan-bluish-gray-gradient-background has-background is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Flexential\u2019s Hillsboro data center footprint includes four facilities totaling 824,071 square feet and 77.3 megawatts of power capacity. Currently underway is the 358,000-square-foot, 36 megawatts Hillsboro 5, scheduled to come online in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The power provider for this campus is Portland General Electric\u2019s Sunset Reliability Center, allowing access to redundant power grid and priority fuel delivery. Flexential\u2019s campus forms a key transpacific interconnection hub, with the Hillsboro 2 facility referred to as the Network Access Point of the Northwest, due to housing the largest connectivity hub in the Portland metro area and country\u2019s landings of two subsea cables, the Hawaiki and New Cross Pacific.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, Flexential secured a long-term equity investment from Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, that became a co-investor alongside GI Partners. Since then, the company has raised nearly $1 billion for its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/investor-interest-in-data-centers-ramps-up\/\">development and expansion strategy<\/a> in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The firm\u2019s data center footprint in the U.S. includes more than 330 megawatts of capacity across 40 facilities encompassing over 3 million services. Additionally, Flexential is active in 18 major markets for deployment flexibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-flexential-s-recent-moves\">Flexential&#8217;s recent moves<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hillsboro is becoming an attractive tech and data center hub in the country due to the state\u2019s favorable tax environment, high-capacity fiber, clean energy options and infrastructure. According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbre.com\/insights\/briefs\/north-america-data-center-trends-h1-2025-ai-and-hyperscaler-demand-lead-to-record-low-vacancy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">CBRE report<\/a>, in the first half of this year Hillsboro\u2019s data center vacancy rate clocked in at 0.2 percent, the lowest among the country\u2019s primary markets and only 13-basis-points higher when compared to the first half of the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another one of Flexential&#8217;s projects is taking shape in Parker, Colo., where the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/flexential-eyes-new-denver-data-center\/\">has its fifth colocation facility<\/a> under construction and the largest one in the Denver metro area. The project, a 22.5-megawatt data center campus, is expected to open in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier in May, Flexential <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/flexential-completes-atlanta-data-center-purchase\/\">completed the acquisition<\/a> of a data center it has been occupying in Norcross, Ga.
