The plant has since had an economic impact of more than $5 billion annually. <em>Image courtesy of Hyundai Motor Group<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Hyundai Motor Group will invest $26 billion across the U.S. between 2025 and 2028, revising its initial $21 billion commitment announced last March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/how-will-the-rise-in-manufacturing-investment-impact-industrial-cre\/\">manufacturing investment<\/a>, the automaker will build a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/hyundai-to-build-5-8b-steel-mill-in-louisiana\/\">steel mill in Louisiana<\/a>\u2014its first overseas production base, as well as the first plant in the U.S. to integrate all stages of steel production. The company earmarked $5.8 billion for this project in Donaldsonville, La.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hyundai will also develop a robotics facility bearing an annual capacity of 30,000 units, slated to serve as a hub for design, manufacturing, testing and deployment. This spring, Hyundai <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/hyundai-opens-7-6b-manufacturing-plant\/\">opened Metaplant America<\/a>, a 16 million-square-foot manufacturing campus in Ellabell, Ga. Production at this $7.6 billion plant has an initial capacity of 300,000 cars per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This commitment landed after Hyundai wrapped up the first half of 2025 with a 10 percent year-over-year increase in auto sales, followed by an all-time July record, according to its recent reports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-automakers-expand-production-as-car-sales-grow\">Automakers expand production as car sales grow<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The company\u2019s success mirrored automotive trends, as U.S. vehicle sales grew 7.1 percent month-over-month in July, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/economics.td.com\/us-vehicle-sales\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">T.D. Economics report<\/a>. As sales ramped up, automakers continued to invest across the nation. Last April, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles\u2014part of Stellantis\u2014tapped Prologis and Broadstone Net Lease to develop a 422,000-square-foot, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/prologis-broadstone-to-develop-78m-build-to-suit-project\/\">$78.2 million project in Forsyth<\/a>, Ga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Broadstone is also under contract with automotive company Stellantis for another industrial project in Bremen, Ga. This 1.2 million-square-foot development is slated for completion next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stellantis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/stellantis-opens-534-ksf-distribution-center-in-new-york\/\">opened another facility in East Fishkill<\/a>, N.Y., earlier this year.
